Maria Sharapova defends her championship title and won at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2013




 




Maria Sharapova has defended her title at the Porche Tennis Grand Prix after winning Li Na. The winner as mentioned in the previous will ride away a Porsche. Maria Sharapova had advanced to the final of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. She met Angelique Kerber and won 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. Maria Sharapova will be meeting Li Na or qualifier Bethanie Mattek-Sands for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title. She is the defending champion and had recently clinched the endorsement for Porsche so it will be interesting if she wins the title second consecutive time. The winner for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will also ride away with a Porsche and US$125,000.

Ana Ivanovic had a good couple of matches at the Porsche Grand Prix. She won Andrea Petkovic 6-3, 6-2 and went to the second round to meet Nadia Petrova. At the second round she won 6-4, 6-3 and advance to the quarter finals. At this quarter finals she met Maria Sharapova. Maria Sharapova won 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. This was a different opponent for Maria Sharapova as she said that Ana Ivanovic is a player that is a little more aggressive. Maria Sharapova took the first set and Ana Ivanovic returns with more aggressive shots and won the second set of the game. At the third set Maria Sharapova won to clinch the spot at the semi-finals.
